There are both advantages and disadvantages when it comes to using dial up internet. They are shown below.

Connectivity: dial up internet provides better internet access to those who live in rural areas as it is difficult for broadband services to reach these areas.

Disconnections: if your internet has been inactive for a while the ISP's tend to disconnect you.
Gaming: dial up internet is not suitable for gaming as it is slower than broadband.
Connectivity: connection to the internet is unavailable unless you can connect to an ISP (internet service provider). This can only be done if there is a telephone line nearby.

As you can see from the information above dial up internet has a number of advantages and disadvantages. Whether you choose to use dial up will depend entirely on your situation. It would appear that if you use the internet on a regular basis and you need constant access broadband is for you. If however you only use the internet occasionally or you live in a rural area your best option is dial up internet.
