How to Install a Dial-Up Connection in Windows 7
This guide shows you how to configure your dial-up settings manually on Windows 7.
Please note, this guide only covers configuring the dialup connection itself. It does not provide information on installation and setup of your modem hardware. For assistance with this please contact either your modem or PC manufacturer.
- Click the 'Start' button, and then select 'Control Panel'.
- In the Control panel, select 'Network and Internet'.
- Next, select 'Network and Sharing Center'.
- In the Network and Sharing Centre select 'Set up a new connection or network'
- In the wizard that appears, select 'Set up a dial-up connection', and click 'next'.
- A new dialogue box will appear. Type 0845 6043041 into the 'Dial-up phone number' box, username of 'dialup' and a password of '247'.
- Enter a suitable connection name, such as Dialup247, tick 'Remember this Password', and click connect.
- The entered connection settings are now stored for future use and can be accessed by clicking on the network icon in the tray, and selecting the connection name entered in step 6.
Your connection should now be ready for use.
